The difference nobody else offers

Your health insurance may already cover this stay.

Shathayu Ayurveda Yoga Retreat is a registered hospital under the Government of India's ROHINI registry, and we are empanelled with leading health insurers and TPAs. Ayurveda medical management here is reimbursable under AYUSH or Alternative Medicine cover, subject to your policy terms.

Most Ayurveda retreats in India cannot say this. It is the difference between paying for a wellness holiday and claiming for medical treatment.

Check if my policy covers it

How it works
  1. Send your enquiry with your insurer's name in the requirements box.
  2. Our team checks your policy against our empanelled insurer and TPA list.
  3. We tell you before you book what is likely to be covered and what is not.
  4. You are treated as a hospital inpatient and we issue the documentation needed for reimbursement.

Reimbursement is subject to the terms and conditions of the medical insurance policy you hold. Not all insurers or treatments are covered. We confirm eligibility before you commit.

A typical day

What the stay is actually like.

A retreat is somewhere you live for a while, not a treatment you visit. The rhythm is the medicine as much as the therapy is.

Yoga and meditation at Shathayu Retreat
06:00Wake, warm herbal drink
06:30Yoga and pranayama in the yoga hall
08:00Breakfast, sattvic and cooked to your constitution
09:30Doctor's round, plan reviewed against your response
10:00Prescribed therapy: Abhyanga, Shirodhara or as advised

16:00Second therapy, or a walk to the lake and rocks
18:00Guided meditation

21:00Rest
Needs client confirmation: this schedule is modelled on a standard residential Ayurveda day. Replace with Shathayu's real timings before go-live.
What is included

Everything in one price, on one campus.

No per-therapy billing surprises at checkout. Your programme fee covers the stay, the care and the food.

01

Accommodation

A private room among 20+ on a quiet campus ringed by hills on three sides and a lake on the fourth.

02

Doctor consultation & daily rounds

An Ayurveda physician assesses your prakriti on day one and reviews your plan every day of the stay.

03

Prescribed daily therapies

Panchakarma and classical external therapies delivered by trained therapists, prescribed not chosen from a menu.

04

Sattvic diet built for your programme

Meals cooked to your constitution and stage of treatment, not a buffet you pick from.

05

Yoga, pranayama and meditation

Daily guided sessions in a dedicated yoga hall, plus the spiritual garden, hikes and the lake.

06

A plan to take home

Diet, lifestyle and medication guidance for after you leave, so the stay does not end at checkout.

Pricing

What a stay costs.

Programmes are quoted after a doctor consultation, because the therapy plan and the length of stay decide the price. These are the starting points.

Retreat, not resort spa

Most “Ayurveda resorts” are hotels that added a treatment room.

The therapies are pleasant, the setting is beautiful, and nothing is diagnosed. Shathayu is a registered hospital where a doctor examines you, prescribes a plan and changes it as you respond. If you want a spa holiday with Ayurvedic touches, there are better options than us.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a programme cost?
The price depends on the therapies your doctor prescribes, the room category and the length of stay. Send an enquiry and we come back with an exact quote, with no obligation to book. If you hold health insurance, tell us the insurer and we check your coverage first, because that often changes the real cost substantially.
Is the treatment covered by health insurance?
Shathayu Ayurveda Yoga Retreat is a registered hospital under the Government of India's ROHINI registry and is empanelled with leading insurers and TPAs for Ayurveda medical management on a reimbursement basis. Coverage depends on your individual policy terms and the treatment plan your doctor recommends. We confirm eligibility before you commit to anything.
How long should I stay?
Your doctor recommends a duration after assessing you. As a guide, Weekend Wellness runs 2 nights, rejuvenation and de-stress programmes 5 to 14 nights, and detox, Panchakarma and chronic-condition programmes 10 to 21 nights. Classical Panchakarma needs at least 14 nights to be done properly.
I have never done Ayurveda before. Is this right for me?
Most of our guests arrive with no prior experience. Your doctor explains what they observe, what they are prescribing and why, in plain language. You do not need to understand Ayurvedic theory to benefit from it.
Can I continue my regular allopathic medication?
In most cases, yes. Your doctor reviews your current prescriptions and builds a plan that works alongside them. We never ask you to stop prescribed medication abruptly. Any reduction over time is a decision for you and your treating physician.
What is the food like?
Pure vegetarian and sattvic, cooked to your constitution and the stage of your programme rather than ordered off a menu. Tell us about allergies or dietary requirements when you enquire so the kitchen can plan ahead.
Can I work during my stay?
[NEEDS CLIENT INPUT] Confirm the retreat's policy on laptops, phones and Wi-Fi during treatment, and whether guests on intensive detox programmes are advised to stay offline.
What should I bring?
[NEEDS CLIENT INPUT] Confirm recommended clothing, what is provided, and the alcohol and smoking policy.
What is the cancellation policy?
[NEEDS CLIENT INPUT] A published cancellation window and deposit terms belong here. There is a cancellation policy page on shathayuretreat.com; confirm the current terms and we put the key line on this page.
Do you accept international guests?
Yes. We coordinate dietary needs, airport pickup and travel logistics from your enquiry onwards. Guests from the UK, US, Europe and the Gulf have stayed with us. Mention your country in the form and we will share what you need for AYUSH visa documentation.

A quieter way to get your health back.

Send your enquiry. A doctor reads it, recommends a programme and a length of stay, and we send you an exact price. Nothing is charged until you decide.

No obligationA quote and a recommendation, not a sales call.
